We are incredibly excited to highlight Monique Peralta, a true TUSD success story who has dedicated 25 years to the world of education. Monique’s journey with our district didn't just start at the head of the classroom; she is a proud TUSD alum who attended Vesey Elementary and Morgan Maxwell, eventually graduating from Cholla High School! Monique has brought her expertise to almost every elementary level, having taught first, second, third, and fourth grades. She also spent four years sharing her wisdom as an Instructional Coach at Oyama Elementary before finding her current home in 2013.

Today, she is back where her heart is—teaching fourth grade at Carrillo K-5 Communication and Creative Arts Magnet! For Monique, the best part of her job is the daily connection with her students. She loves walking into her classroom knowing that every single day, her students will leave having gained something new and meaningful.

When she isn’t shaping the minds of TUSD’s fourth graders, Monique is all about family! She cherishes her time off, spending quality moments with her loved ones. As a lifelong learner, she also offers top-tier recommendations for her fellow educators and parents: she’s currently inspired by Teach Like a Champion 2.0—a must-read for anyone looking to help students succeed.
