Carrillo K-5 Magnet School

School Photos - Pickleball Clinic
On March 22, 3rd and 4th grade students at Carrillo K-5 Magnet School were treated to a little pickleball clinic. Steve Gall, who volunteers with Carrillo and is an avid pickleball player, got some of his friends together to help teach students the basics of pickleball. Principal Kirstin Bittel said she believes kids should try every sport, so she was more than happy to help host the clinic – and even got in on the action!

What Makes Us Special

Carrillo K-5 Communication and Creative Art Magnet School is a nationally recognized, Certified Magnet Demonstration school that has been recognized as an A+ school of excellence.  We are a diverse school, located in the heart of downtown in historic Barrio Viejo.  Our magnet infused curriculum is designed to teach students 21st Century skills through arts-integrated thematic units. In addition to mastery of the Arizona College and Career Ready Standards through rigorous project based learning units, students participate in fine and performing arts, and technology specialist classes weekly which directly connect with core learning experiences.

Carrillo students enjoy field trips to Tucson museums, farms, historic sites, the Desert Museum and our local University of Arizona Campus. Neighborhood traditions, like the Las Posadas events, El Presidio field trips and the annual Luau, are all an important part of our culture. We are a Ben's Bells Kind Campus and strive to ensure that everyone that walks through our doors feel like they are part of the Carrillo family. Please call us to schedule a tour today!
